We have been studying about the beauty and wonder of Antarctica. We have looked at the landscape, the habitat, and we have learned about the animals that live there. We read: “The Emperor’s Egg” by Martin Jenkins. We also saw “March of the Penguins”which is a documentary about Emperor Penguins in Antarctica.
We started by making penguin eggshells out of papier-mâché. Then we mixed flour, cornstarch, water and oil, to make clay. With this we made baby emperor penguins and painted them. We plan on making a diorama, and a mural about the Antarctic!
